The Cloud the Size of a Human Hand

Had a really good day today doing my reaching out/counselling/evangelism/praying.  All of it combined.

I feel like a breakthrough is coming to the lives of these wonderful youths.   Came home with one of them and had a good heart to heart.  I am feeling overwhelmed.

We talked about relationships,  being unequally yoked, life experiences and basic issues of life.  He even promised he will start tithing from next month.

Though I know the war is not over yet I can see the cloud the size of a human.  Soon the rain is going to fall down in torrents.  Hallelujah.   I stand in awe of God.

BWANA YESU ASIFIWE!

The Work of the Holy Spirit

A few weeks ago, I invited a few youths to come to a night vigil with me on New Year's Eve.  The plan was to meet at my place for food and fellowship before the vigil starts.  So of course some invited their friends to come.  Some of those friends were only able to stay for the food and said they will not be able to make it for the night vigil for one reason or another.  Well, naturally I asked one of them if he knew the Lord.  He said he used to be a christian but had somehow drifted back to the old ways.  I didn't preach to him but told him that he needs to come back to the Lord.

Fast forward to two Mondays ago, I invited them again to church for prayers.  That day two of them called me and said they would like to come for prayers but did not have the fare.  So I sent them the fare and they came.  When I asked the same young man where he stands with the Lord, this is what he said.  "After we spoke the last time, I could not stop thinking about what you said and yesterday I went to church and gave my life to Christ."  Hallelujah!  That is what I call the work of the Holy Spirit.  Long after you stop speaking, He is still speaking.  He is still convicting the sinner of sin, righteousness and
judgement.

The bible says in John 15:26 that when the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father - the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father - he will testify about me.  Verse 27 of the same chapter says, and you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning.  So has anyone been with Jesus?  Well, testify about him.  Testify what he has done for you and leave the rest to the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit testifies that the salvation process has been completed.  He will speak to the heart of a sinner in a way no other human being could ever do.  He will also guide you into all truth and He will tell you of what is yet to come.

So what have you seen the Holy Spirit do recently in your life?  Please write and let us encourage one another and celebrate His faithfulness together.

My Grandmother's Prayers

I have heard several times the phrase "my grandmother's prayers" being used by people as they remember how diligently their grandmother used to pray for them.  Even more are the times I have read about people whose lives have been changed as an effect of a praying grandmother or mother.

Many a people would remember their grandmother taking them to church or teaching how to pray or even telling them of a loving and true God that loves them so much that He would die for them.  The said grandmother would go on to say that that God would love it so much if they believed Him or had a relationship with them.

The said people would remember straying so far away from what their grandmother  or mother them and never knowing how they ever got there or even how to get back to the God of their grandmother/mother.   But somehow they would remember how sincerely their grandmother used to pray and they would be forced to pray when faced with difficulties.

By the mercies of God,  God who is true to Himself,  would always answer their prayers and they would get back on the path they were meant to take.   Paul said to Timothy,  "I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded,  now lives in your also." 2 Timothy 1:5.

Today a scripture was read at church that "if his sons forsake my law and do not follow my statues.....but I will not take my love from Him, nor  will I ever betray my faithfulness.   I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered..."  Psalm 89:30-35.

God is so faithful as to keep his covenant.   The Bible says even if the son forsakes the law and fails to keep God commands,  yet God's love will still be on him for the sake of the covenant he made with the father; the covenant he made with that praying grandmother or that persevering mother.  He will not betray his faithfulness.

Are you that praying man or woman today that is standing in the gap for your children,  your grandchildren,  your sisters, your brothers,  your coworkers or your friends?   Be encouraged that has not forgotten his covenant to save them.  He will do what He promised to do and so much more.  Read Ephesians 3:20

2014 - The Year That Was!

As we end 2014 and begin 2015, I just wanted to look back throughout 2014 and list at least 14 things I am grateful to God about.  The bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 that no matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ.

I am grateful that:-

1.  God gave me the opportunity to serve the Sierra Leoneans from January to August 2014.  Freetown being a coastal town, I enjoyed the beautiful beaches around.  What a blessing!

2.  God graced me to lead two people in Sierra Leone to Christ.  There is always #GreaterJoyInHeaven when a soul comes to the Lord.  Souls are the major #thingsthatkeepmeawakeatnight. What a privilege!

3.  God favored me and overwhelming selected me to set foot on the Holy Land.  I was blessed to walk where Jesus walked - an experience that forever changed my life.  #JoyOverwhelming.  What an honor!
Sea of Galilee

4.  During the pilgrimage trip to Israel, we also passed through Egypt.  Got to see first hand the effects of insecurity in a country.  There were some places we could not pass without a police escort.  Grateful for the security we enjoy in Kenya.  Thank you Jesus!

5.  Though I was in Sierra Leone when #Ebola broke out, God spared my life from that deadly disease.  God is truly amazing!

6.  God has continued to protect my friends and family in the Lord in Sierra Leone from the Ebola virus.  The bible says in Exodus 23:25, Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and your water. I will take away sickness from among you.  Papa God we tell you plenty tenki!

7.  God brought me back to Kenya to serve the Children of Kenya Children's Home. Selah!

8.  God enabled me to read Reinhard Bonnke's autobiography, 'Living a Life of Fire' which had a great impact in my life.  I don't read many books from cover to cover but this was one of those I could not put down.  Hallelujah!

9.  God used me to lead three teenagers from the Children's Home to the Lord.  #GreaterJoyInHeaven.  Glory to God in the Highest!

10.  God also used me to bring 3 Connect youths (children who grew up in the Children's Home) to the Lord and one rededicated her life to Christ.  #WhatOtherJoyIsThere?  Praise Adonai!

11.  Being in Kenya has made it possible for me to see my nieces and nephews more regularly.  Blessing and honor be unto the ancient of days!

12.  God also enabled me to visit the beautiful island of Zanzibar - a trip was fully sponsored by my sister.  Merci Beaucoup Monsieur!

13.  God allowed me to be a part of the team that #MakesLifeWorthLiving for the women who have fistula in Kenya.  So humbling.

14.  God protected my family, friends and myself from sudden calamities, accidents, infirmities and illness, immature deaths,  and property loss.  He is a miracle working God!
